In order to further study and understand magnetic materials and develop magnetic assembly business, Hiest engineers Wang Yuliang, Li Heliang, Wu Weiming and Ruan Senjie published a paper of ‘the Structure, Principle, Function and Application of Torque-limited Permanent Magnet Coupling’ on magazine ‘magnetic materials and assemblies’. To share their opinions and interpretations on the torque-limited permanent magnet coupling, hoping to make everyone better understand the permanent magnet coupling.

As a new type of flexible transmission device, the torque-limited permanent magnet coupling has the functions of soft start, overload protection and vibration elimination. In this paper, they provide its structure, reveal the combined action principle of permanent magnet magnetic field and induced magnetic field, and analyze the soft start and torque limiting principle. The excellent performance of the torque-limited permanent magnet coupling is illustrated by the experimental data curve of the prototype and the application cases of the crusher and conveyor.
